Breakaway
Breakaway is the application of a self defence technique, which poses no threat to the attacker, but thwarts an attacker’s assault.
Ensuring that the degree of force used is proportionate to the degree of threat, this will promote a lowering in statistics regarding counter claims by attackers, as the force used will not promote injury, but will promote a positive outcome for all parties as the potential for injury is greatly minimised.
Benefits:
- Enables you to raise alarm, and gain assistance.
- Minimises risk of injury to self, or concerned others.
- Has psychological effect on the attacker, as it becomes apparent that their intended victim is capable of thwarting attempts to assault.
- Can promote a positive outcome as attacker is prevented from further criminalisation.
- Promotes self confidence, in staff teams, leaving staff less vulnerable.
Due to the heightened culture of violent attacks against vulnerable persons, it has been recognized that there is a requirement to promote Breakaway and conflict management training.
