Growing Places
Growing Places is one of 213 winning projects and will be running a scheme to engage the community in learning opportunities to transform disused/neglected spaces in Knowsley and increase further access to education, family and community activities”
Through Growing Places we want to:
- Encourage more and different people into informal learning, particularly people from disadvantaged groups
- Open up access to learning in new places, in new ways and at more flexible times
- Support people to set up self-organised groups and learning clubs
- Widen choice, by developing and sharing innovative content
- Build partnerships and strengthen the capacity of informal adult learning
- Improve connections and progression between different kinds of learning
Growing Places is going to be a showcase project and we are looking to transform a small, medium and large space in Knowsley between now and next Spring/Summer!
We want to hear from you if you are:
- A keen outdoor enthusiast with green fingers
- On a waiting list for an allotment in Knowsley
- A member of a current allotment group or society and willing to volunteer your services as well as provide advice
- Interested in learning more about how to grow things and how things grow
- Keen to do something positive in your community as a community
- Interested in saving a few pennies by growing your own. As the old saying goes “look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves”
- Interested in learning simply for learning
